The honest limits of telehealth medicine
What a video visit and a lab draw can safely handle โ and the situations where you need an in-person clinician.
Telehealth is the right tool for a specific set of problems: chronic condition management, medication titration, straightforward prescribing after labs, and follow-up care. It is not a replacement for a physical exam when a physical exam is what the situation calls for.
What we handle well
Weight management with GLP-1s, testosterone replacement, hair restoration, sermorelin, and similar guideline-driven protocols. These are conditions where the diagnostic work is a lab panel and a symptom history, and the treatment is a well-characterized medication with predictable monitoring.
What we refer out
Acute chest pain, new neurological symptoms, suspected fractures, anything requiring imaging, mental health crises, or complex endocrine cases (pituitary abnormalities, unexplained secondary hypogonadism in a young patient). If we can't safely manage it on screen, we say so and help you find someone who can.
How to tell the difference
A good telehealth practice tells you no when no is the right answer. If a service will prescribe anything to anyone regardless of intake, that's not convenience โ that's a liability issue waiting to become yours.
